Specification Writer - Mechanical and/or Plumbing Engineer
Responsibilities
Prepare RIB SpecLink master guide specification sections in accordance with internal standards, including maintenance of existing content and creation of new content.
Coordinate with sales department for vetting of potential listings for building product manufacturers (BPMs) and their products in RIB SpecLink master guide specification sections .
Develop and maintain proprietary specification sections for BPMs.
Research and analyze manufacturers, products, reference standards, and codes to develop accurate and relevant content with options applicable to a wide variety of facility types.
Develop master notes to educate and assist specifiers in editing sections.
Qualifications - Required
Five years of recent design experience producing construction documents for facility mechanical and plumbing systems including drawings and specifications.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field or combination of technical training and related experience.
Working knowledge of CSI construction document principles including application of CSI MasterFormat and SectionFormat.
Strong critical thinking and organizational skills, creativity, passion for learning and conveying knowledge to others.
Proficiency with MS Office, especially MS Word and MS Excel.
Qualifications - Preferred
Experience with facility fire protection systems and/or integrated automation.
Experience maintaining specifications for office masters.
Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) Construction Document Technologist (CDT) certification.
Membership and participation in CSI.
Professional engineering registration.
Project management or construction contract administration experience.
Product/UX Designer
Responsibilities
Research and Analysis
Gather and evaluate end-user requirements in collaboration with product managers/owners, engineers, and internal subject-matter experts
Participate in meetings or focus groups with customers to understand their business goals and objectives
Validate design research using formal quantitative and qualitative methods
Generate ideas and assist team members with gaining a shared understanding of customer objectives, and align with the product team and internal stakeholders
Presents design concepts, user needs, and design rationale to multidisciplinary teams, as well as to key stakeholders and business partners
Design and Planning
Create prototypes and interactive proof-of-concepts for new product ideas
Deliver necessary design artifacts/documentation to guide or aid user-story writing and development planning
Develop and follow a consistent, repeatable design process each sprint/release cycle to evolve from concept to workflow to final mockups, including visual design and interaction requirements
Test and validate concepts with relevant audiences, including internal and external stakeholders
Assist with planning phased implementation for complex features or new areas of the application and deliver designs accordingly
Delivery and Execution
Communicate ideas and designs to end users and product team members
Collaborate and pair with other product team members (e.g. product management and engineering) to oversee timely, high-quality delivery
Document, review, and ensure that all quality and change control standards are met
Participates in and contributes to learning activities around modern software design and development core practices (communities of practice)
Measurement and Optimization
Define key metrics for each product or application to evaluate usability and engagement
Develop a process to track and summarize key metrics
Optimize and provide corrective feedback for existing UI designs and workflows
Additional Responsibilities
Perform and maintain other software duties as assigned previously (Production Manager/Streamline)
Preferred Qualifications
You have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Product, UX Designer
Experience with agile and lean philosophies
Strong opinions but hold them loosely
Team spirit; strong communication skills to collaborate with various co-workers and stakeholders
A portfolio of design work that is clear and professional
Ability to identify and translate the difference be between good design and realistic real-world implementation
Understanding of common software project management practices
Understanding of common software development practices

Ability to rapidly iterate on prototypes
Proficiency in Figma, Creative Suite, Sketch, or some equivalent
An understanding of HTML / CSS / JS and experience with contemporary web application frameworks such as Angular, Bootstrap, React, .NET
User research experience in technical domains
Visual identity and branding experience
Illustration skills
The ability to code your own prototypes
Experience with data visualization
Consistently lead user research projects
Architectural Specification Writer - Content Designer
Responsibilities
Prepare master specification sections.
Coordinate with sales department for listings for building product manufacturers (BPMs) in master specification sections (vetting).
Write listings for (BPMs) in master specification sections.
Write proprietary specification sections for BPMs.
Conform to company standards for writing specification sections.
Research BPM and reference standard information.
Qualifications - Required
Five years of recent design and construction specification experience including a minimum of three years as a full-time specification writer.
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field or combination of technical training and related experience.
Experience with CSI construction document principles and construction materials.
Must have strong editorial judgment.
Proficiency with MS Office, especially MS Word and MS Excel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications - Preferred
Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) Construction Document Technologist (CDT) certification.
Membership and participation in CSI.
Professional registration preferred.
Project management or construction contract administration experience.
Experience with LEED, CalGreen, WELL, and other sustainability certification systems.
